When the Rogers family of Poudre Canyon, Colo., got a camera for Christmas to record the wildlife outside their home in the Rocky Mountains, they likely had no idea that one wild animal in particular would be such a camera hog.

Dog Chasing Ducks Rescued From Icy Pond



A smooth fox terrier dog out for a hike with his owners almost didn't make it home alive when he found himself stuck in a very precarious situation. The dog, named Jonah by his owners, the Vargas family of Frisco, Colo., slipped away from his leash after a group of ducks on a pond caught his eye while the family was walking home from a hike in nearby Breckenridge over Thanksgiving weekend, according to authorities.

Bear Cubs Caught Red-handed Breaking Into Car In Snowmass Village



Three cubs didn't quite learn the entire lesson from mamma bear about breaking into cars for food. The part they missed? When the police arrive -- run! The mother bear and her three cubs, credited recently with no less than 14 car break-ins in Snowmass Village, Colo., were in the process of another when police came upon the scene and scared the animals off.

Florida Man Reunites With Lost Kitty In Colorado



A cat who wandered away from his new home in Florida has been reunited with his owner after being found nearly 2,000 miles away in Colorado.  Waylon, an orange-striped tabby cat, was reunited with Daniel Johns on Wednesday at the Foothills Animal Shelter in Golden.

Orphaned Bear CubsTo Return To The Wild


Two bear cubs that were orphaned after their mother was shot by a Colorado Division of Wildlife officer in August are healthy and receiving care at a wildlife sanctuary on Colorado’s Western Slope, according to a press release from the Animal Law Center. The cubs are expected to return to the wild sometime in 2012.

Colorado Cat Found in Manhattan 5 Years Later


A calico cat named Willow, who disappeared from a home near the Rocky Mountains five years ago, was found Wednesday on a Manhattan street and will soon be returned to a family in which two of the three kids and one of the two dogs may remember her.
